Join us for an engaging presentation by established Singaporean thought leader and strategic consultant CK Lim, who will examine the Chinese technology ecosystem through the lens of an automotive technology and strategy expert.
Using the automotive sector as a strategic case study, CK will explore how China has built an integrated innovation ecosystem spanning electrification, intelligent vehicles, advanced manufacturing, batteries, and digital sales models — and how this has reshaped global competition.
The session will then broaden to consider a critical question: are we witnessing the beginning of global technology bifurcation? Will similar divides emerge in AI, semiconductors, batteries, and clean energy — and what would parallel standards, supply chains, and innovation systems mean for businesses and policymakers?

Shiok! Singapore Kitchen has returned to the community at its new location on Oak Grove Avenue. Originally founded in 1999 by Maggie Lim, who began cooking the Singaporean dishes she grew up with for friends after moving to the U.S., the restaurant quickly outgrew its first space and became a beloved fixture on Chestnut Street for over two decades.
When the building was sold and tenants were required to leave, Shiok! temporarily operated as a delivery-only “ghost kitchen” in Redwood City. But for owner Dennis Lim, the heart of the restaurant has always been its connection to the community. Now reopened at 625 Oak Grove Ave., Shiok! returns with the same kitchen team, familiar faces, and family recipes — continuing its tradition of sharing Singapore’s rich blend of Chinese, Indian, Malay, Indonesian, Thai, and European culinary influences.
